Become a Youth Referee
In partnership with NJYS, the Recreation Referee Program at Hamilton Girls Soccer Club helps to develop officiating at the recreation level for players ages 12 through 16. The program provides aspiring young referees with an opportunity to obtain pre-grassroots referee certification eligibility. Candidates will learn the basic mechanics related to officiating and applicable laws of the game, uniform and equipment, as well as ongoing education. The Recreation Referee Program is designed to sponsor young referees to become US Soccer Grassroots Referees and join the competitive referee pool.
Each participant in the Recreation Referee Program at Hamilton Girls Soccer Club program will receive equipment, including whistles, watches, flags, t-shirts and yellow wristbands, and will be provided free access to the USYS University "Introduction to Officiating Soccer" course.
The Recreation Referee Program at HGSC is funded by NJYS at no cost to participants. Participants at the age of 13-14 may also opt to complete the grassroots officiating course and will be reimbursed for the course registration fee at the end of the season.
